After a long drought I'm finally back with a special treat, unreleased (yet) Stirring by Troy Escamilla. Haven't seen his first film which has gotten rave reviews and awards, I was given the opportunity to bear witness to the carnage that is Stirring. He has brought the 80's nostalgic feel of classic Christmas horror slashers back. Classics such as Silent Night, Deadly Night and Black Christmas come to mind. The intro to this film is great, then we fast forward to Christmas years later to a sorority house party. The victims come fast and gruesome deaths, this film (I believe) will be a Christmas classic you'll want to watch year in and out. Troy is a director to keep an eye on. He comes with guns blazing with little let up. I hate to mention anything plot related but a hazing gone bad. Just remember if you need a good horror film to watch, when it finally gets released it's a must watch. Oh and did I forget to mention that he pulled in Brinke Stevens to be the cop in this classic. The 80's Scream Queen Icon still has it and it shows in her performance, just to solidify the 80's feel.
