Sorry it's been a while since last post, i being a mailman have been extremely busy since Santa has now learned how to use a computer, but i digress.  This is my review of Clown presented by Eli Roth and directed by Jon Watts, who also wrote it, this piece of celluloid was great.  I wish people would lay off Eli Roth's back, he is doing a great job of picking up movies that are entertaining to say the least.  He along with the likes of Rob Zombie, and a couple of others are doing their best for high budget horror.  I love and admire the likes of the indie seen better but alas our local multiplex won't carry those anytime soon.  Alas I give the indie scene all the props in the world, and i have supported them through various campaigns for funds as i can.  Back onto Clown i was enthralled with the characters and the message i found developed in it.  The effects were of course good and realistic, I found it to be highly entertaining.

     This interview with local Cleveland FX artist Ron George was done live in-person interview so answers are not word for word it took 5 hours for interview/talk that was a great time, learned a lot about him and stuff he's done and up to coming soon.  But he is a class act have met him a few times but never stopped him to talk felt is about time.  He sure has done a lot and shows no signs of stopping and his FX is getting better and better.  Without further ado:

 Steve (S):  How many films have you done special FX for?

 Ron George (RG):  I have done 41 films or shorts and 6 music videos from a assortment of bands.

S:  Did you have any schooling for special effects work?

RG:  Not at all, it all started with a zombie walk.  I went to my first zombie walk paid my money for make-up and thought it was awesome job they did.  So I went back at Fall zombie walk and FX artist wasn't there that did first make-up so I just hung out with the rest learning how they did the work and had them show me the way.  Then I used my daughter as my practice head and went on to do make-up at Bloodview haunted house, and started watching youtube videos on make-up tutorials.  Met up with Fred Vogel and used some of his techniques and eventually did a red, white, and blue confederate which was used in a film.

S:  What is your favorite horror film?

RG:  The one I enjoyed most when I was young was John Carpenter's Prince Of Darkness, for supernatural aspects I loved The Pact from IFC films.

S:  How many years have you been doing special FX work?

RG:  Going on 7 years now.

S:  What do you consider you're best make-up job?

RG:  Red Acquisition being released soon and The Wolf Family Treasure, and In Production, along with Rhyme Slaya which is doing festival circuit.  I really couldn't decide.

S:  Who is you're greatest influence in special effects?

RG:  Surprisingly it's Fred Vogel and Jerami Cruise who works for Fred.

S:  What do most not know about you?

RG:  I saved a persons life using CPR, I lived in Texas and a guy in a bar just passed out and quit breathing, It was scary but he lived.

S:  When did you know that horror and Halloween were made for you?

RG:  My babysitter watched inappropriate movies while letting me watch, I saw Porky's 2, I believe with some guy scaring people in graveyard and I was hooked, watching Hellraiser and Exorcist 3 and that made it in stone for me.

S:  Who or what  first showed you into horror movies and special FX?

RG:  All the zombie walk artists were ultimately the best people who took me under their collective wings and showed me where to start.

S:  You have done charity work for haunted houses and zombie walks, is this keeping you too busy during Halloween season?

RG:  I usually do private parties on Saturday's before running off to haunted houses at night, between Friday thru Sunday I do my haunted house work.
